Hide/Unhide Columns issue: PBI Unhides hidden columns after pbix refresh

Hi,

In my pbix I hid all the columns and measures that are not neccessary for the users who may work with the excel analyzer or could connect to the dataset. The pbix was linked to our Dev database. When I switched the Parameter so that the pbix gets data from the Production database, the pbix got refreshed and the hidden columns got visible.

Interestingly enough, Measures and Calculated columns stayed hidden. Other (raw) columns got unhidden. Also, if a whole Table was hidden, it stayed hidden. If only some columns of a table were hidden then they got visible.

Any ideas what could be the cause?

Unfortunately, I can’t reproduce the same issue as yours.

I suggest you to update to the latest version of the Power BI desktop and check if this problem can disappear.

If you still have a problem, I suggest you to open a support ticket to get direct help from the technical support team of Microsoft.

We haven't pinned it down to know how to reproduce yet, but we have also had 8 different data models suddenly stop hiding columns and making them visible- and we've had to go back into each and re-hide them so that users can't see them.  We aren't making major changes to the models at this time - sometimes adding a new measure or something.  So it's not clear why.  We are on the November 2021 version. We'll install the new one but it looks to me like something has happened recently that's causing this behavior because we keep seeing it in our models.

Same problem occured with one pbix file.

Power BI Desktop Version : 2.114.864.0 64-bit (février 2023)

Power BI continue to  show hiden columns in the Report page.
