Copying Table with Filters is Ignoring Filters

Good Day,

Occassionally I filter tables using a Table View to copy filtered results to use outside of Power BI - I.E. in Excel.

As of today it appears that when copying the Table View that has been filtered, it ignores the filters and copies the whole table. This is an issue for me as when I have a table in excess of 700,000 rows it makes this process extremely slow to copy from Power BI, and near impossible to paste it into Excel.

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

As an example, we are a service company and we have a geographic alignment for our field service team. Simply, filtering a table by the "East" Region and trying to copy the table when filtered to the East is not working. Instead, the entire table is copied.

This is a problem. Suddenly a normal day turned into a wasted day backpedaling in meetings with frustrated users who suddenly cannot get pbix files to honor filters in the Table View for export to Excel files. It's these infuriating surprises. Microsoft fix this immediately.

I'm having the same issue. My workaround at the moment is to create a new table that only contains the data I want to copy and then copy from that instead. A bit of a faff so hopefully this is fixed soon. To do this, click on Table tools > New table then enter some version of the following: table_filtered = FILTER(table, table[column_to_filter_on] IN {"filter_value_1", "filter_value_2", "filter_value_3"})

I have also been Facing this issue since morning. It made my 2-minute Job take 2 hours to complete. Trying to Copy Table with Filters Data but its Copy Table ignores the applied filters. If anyone finds any solution, please help us also.

Both me and a fellow colleague are noticing the same issue today. It's a bit frustrating trying to extract 50 lines of data from a table with millions of rows. For now, I've made a table in the Report View to handle simple data extracts.

Looks like the March update has resulted in this issue. At least, hopefully it's an issue and not a 'feature' as this will cause quite a few headaches for us. Please fix this, Microsoft!!
