Want to use key pair authentication access from Power BI to Snowflake.

With a recent update, Azure Data Factory now supports key pair authentication to Snowflake. I would like to unify the authentication method, so I would like Power BI and the on-premises data gateway to support key pair authentication as well.

Yes! I see it now too. I have not tested it yet but looks promising! Very excited to finally switch my connections over to key pair!

I tested adding the keypair locally and publishing it. The refresh isn't working. I'll try adding it from the service interfaces to see if it works in the web UI, then download it and republish. I'll keep you informed by editing this message.

EDIT : After testing, adding the key pair locally and publishing doesn't work. However, if you modify it through the service by adding the .p8 file and then download the file locally, the transfer succeeds and when republishing without changing the connection, everything is preserved. So adding the key pair via the cloud service works.

I can see this is available in Power Bi service but I dont see this is available with On-premise data gateway.

Does anyone know how to set this up for embedded (app owns data)? We need a programmatic way to update 1000s of workspaces credentials. There's not any documentation on it yet that I can find. Is there a way to programmatically set it up in desktop instead of hardcoding the values?

Hi, Using Key-pair authentication to Snowflake, I'm hitting the error below. I'm using Power BI Desktop, Direct Query Mode. OLE DB or ODBC error: [Expression.Error] We couldn't fold the expression to the data source. Please try a simpler expression... Does anyone come across this error?
