Support Power BI Report Server multiple instances on a single server

Please add support for Power BI Report Server multiple instances on a single server. Like SQL Server Reporting Services : ability to change name, location, add, remove instance. On a mid/large report server farm, multiple instance helps a lot for progressive patching, ssrs subscription launch on different sql engine, etc.

I did a fresh SSRS 2017 alongside of an existing SSRS 2016. It turned out that The configuration mistakenly overrode 2016 by using the same URLs for web portal and web services, despite 2017 using an instance name "SSRS" to connect to. It didn't use it in URLs. Not sure if I have done something but there's little I can customize during installation and configuration.

1. This blocks my deployment of SQL Server 2017 database engine. I need SSRS to be the same version for some apps. 2. I require total isolation of SSRS instances for security I assume it's now free to use and I can install anywhere I want with no cost, on all the indivudal app servers instead of a shared BI servers?

It’s awesome that the SSRS feature was isolated, making it easier to install, and maintain along with a smaller foot print. With the multiple system center (SC) and other products having a SSRS requirement and some products like OM, overwrites the security of its installed SSRS Instance, which breaks any other previously configured SSRS utilizing the same OM SSRS instance and OM is broken if any other products requiring SSRS are installed after OM SSRS. Previously we'd stand up a Highly available VM to install all the required SC SSRS instance front-ends needed, with a WSFC SQL AG back-end. Now we’re not able to consider a SSRS Farm as well as needing to stand up one SSRS VM per SC Product or install the new SSRS version on one of the SC Product Nodes. This can also complicate the SQL licensing model even further for many customers. Is there a current eta on this SSRS feature being re-added?

This is bad. Its April 2019 and multi instance support in the RS installer still missing. Really is that hard to add this? Major impact on my organization upgrade plans.

'@Chris Finlan: My perception of this is decision is very negative. The product had some feature. For some reason you removed it and told us it will come back again. And now that it will not come. Why you even removed it? Clearly many companies were using it and are asking you to kindly reintroduce it.
