How can I connect my xero account to Power BI? the Get Data list does not show xero. What are the options?
Thanks in advance.
Solved! Go to Solution.
To connect Xero to Power BI, you can use the Power BI Content Pack for Xero. Here's how:
Go to the Power BI service, and then select Get Data.
Select Services, and then select Xero.
Sign in to your Xero account and then select the organization you want to connect to.
Choose the entities you want to import, such as Invoices, Bank Transactions, Contacts, and so on.
Select Load to import the data into Power BI.
Once the data is imported, you can create visualizations and reports using Power BI's built-in tools.
Alternatively, if you don't see Xero in the Get Data list, you can connect to Xero data by using the Power Query Editor in Power BI Desktop. You'll need to use the Web connector to extract data from Xero and then shape it in Power Query before loading it into Power BI.
If you want to create custom reports, you can use one of the third-party solutions. They usually charge either a subscription or a setup fee. A subscription might add up over time especially if you have multiple Xero accounts. Here is a fixed price solution I would recommend: https://vidi-corp.com/connect-xero-to-power-bi-tableau-excel-looker-studio/
Second this, as it is Business intelligence software, I thought it would be simple to connect cloud accounting software and payment processors.
I know I'm a little late to this, but spotted it by accident and others may like what I did.
I use Tugger (https://tuggerapp.com/) for Simpro reporting and noticed that they have just added Xero as a connector.
I've been testing things out and it does work well; I'm also liking the report template they include, which they are fine with us customising for our own use.

There is no Xero Connector in Power BI.
Thank you so much for the information you provided, my problem is also solved now. thanks again. To connect your Xero account to Power BI when it doesn't appear in the "Get Data" list, you can use the Xero API and set up a custom connection. In Power BI, go to the "Home" tab, click on "Get Data," choose "Web," and enter the Xero API endpoint. If you're looking to alleviate the academic pressure and elevate your performance I was initially skeptical about using online writing services, but this https://customwriting.com/ website exceeded all my expectations. The professionalism of their writers is unparalleled, and the commitment to delivering plagiarism-free, well-researched content is evident in every assignment I've received, and the timely delivery has been a lifesaver during hectic semesters.
Sorry but is the Xero connector still live? I only get 3p apps but no direct link. Is this due to regional restriction?
No idea on that, but you might like to try: Tugger (https://tuggerapp.com/) for Xero reporting.

Thanks for the recommendation. It is a shame no direct access is given in Power Bi.
I could be missing something obvious here but with the latest changed to the Power Bi online there is no simple 'get data' button available. How do we get to the 'Services' screen now to select Xero. I reviewed the Apps but Xero is not an available app when i search. Could you please advise what is the latest process or should Xero be appearing on the list of apps?
I know I'm late, but maybe it will help someone else, but I can see the Get Data button, clicking on the little down arrow, if I select More... I can then select Online Services.
Yep Xero not there, but I can still see Google Analytics and others, none of which I use. I prefer others to do the pbi stuff for me tbh.
I'm just curious how to go about using the web connector?
A lot of the forums I have followed all ended with an unusable API.
Postman collections work then there is a very roundabout way that requires us to create custom connectors through Power Automate in order to access data in Power BI.
It seems a lot of old working web services have slowly been removed from Power BI, such as the facebook connectors the google analytics connector seems to be an issue as well and now the Xero connector.
Is there some way of connecting through web services that doesn't require a rocket science degree?
Yeh, which is why I looked for something else.
I'm not sure if it will help you, but I've been using Tugger's connector for a bit now (I posted the link above) and it's good; the report template included works as well.
