XERO Connection
To connect Xero to Power BI, you can use the Power BI Content Pack for Xero. Here's how:
Go to the Power BI service, and then select Get Data.
Select Services, and then select Xero.
Sign in to your Xero account and then select the organization you want to connect to.
Choose the entities you want to import, such as Invoices, Bank Transactions, Contacts, and so on.
Select Load to import the data into Power BI.
Once the data is imported, you can create visualizations and reports using Power BI's built-in tools.
Alternatively, if you don't see Xero in the Get Data list, you can connect to Xero data by using the Power Query Editor in Power BI Desktop. You'll need to use the Web connector to extract data from Xero and then shape it in Power Query before loading it into Power BI.
I'm just curious how to go about using the web connector?
A lot of the forums I have followed all ended with an unusable API.
Postman collections work then there is a very roundabout way that requires us to create custom connectors through Power Automate in order to access data in Power BI.
It seems a lot of old working web services have slowly been removed from Power BI, such as the facebook connectors the google analytics connector seems to be an issue as well and now the Xero connector.
Is there some way of connecting through web services that doesn't require a rocket science degree?
Yeh, which is why I looked for something else.
I'm not sure if it will help you, but I've been using Tugger's connector for a bit now (I posted the link above) and it's good; the report template included works as well.
