Provide an easy way to display the last refresh date/time in a dashboard

We update a real-time dashboard every 15 minutes (time interval is configurable). We want to let people know how fresh the data is and reassure ourselves that the dashboard is still running, so we display the last refresh date/time in the upper right corner of the dashboard. We need a simple way to do this that doesn't require VBA (what we currently use to trigger the refresh and set the date/time value in the cell). Thanks!

Will, how do you go about adding this as a datasource?

When having distributed reports on Azure-based services (hence refresh is scheduled maximum 8 times per day) - it would be useful to have an object stating the last successful refresh-time. So that there is no confusion on the data expected to be visualized. A timestamp on metadata-level for the dataset could be a good solution. This information is already available on the publisher dataset - but not on the distributed level.

This is especially useful when information is periodically being published up from a local source

You can show this on a tile in a dashboard by clicking the ... on the top right hand corner of the tile, then click the edit pencil, then check the "Display last refresh time". The refresh time will now show at the top of the tile
