Implement Live/DirectQuery for Postgres

Currently only scheduled refreshes are possible. Please enable DirectQuery for Postgres in Enterprise and Personal Gateways so we can leverage Postgres db's running on Azure. Thank you.

Please include Live Connections (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-directquery-about) with DirectQuery support as we have a need for each user to enter their Postgres username/password when querying.

The ability to quickly add Azure DB's would be nice, but I'd also like to see non-Azure Postgres connectivity for the web version of PowerBI

I'm working on a Custom Connector that will work for Direct Query from PostgreSQL through an ODBC driver. Working on a full write-up (when I get time) but until then I can just share the repo here: https://github.com/sgoley/DirectQuery-for-ODBC-in-PowerBI This is working for us to DirectQuery our Postgres data source via an Azure hosted Windows instance running the custom connector on an On-Premise gateway 24/7. Any updates on this? Is very disappointing not supporting live queries for PG. Tableau supports this, Cognos supports this, ThoughtSpots supports this,.....everyone supports this, except PBI. Why you guys do not want to support it?

This is a very useful feature request. As many huge companies are using PostgreSQL in their infrastructure, it should be possible.

It seems this was included in the August 2019 Power BI Desktop release. But I tried it and it doesn't yet work in the Power BI Service, with an On-Premises Data Gateway. A tech from Power BI support confirmed it is not supported in the Service. At least not yet. Need it to work in the Service with a Gateway, please!
