Epic idea: Advanced primary axis

The primary axis are outdated and require significant improvement when compared to Excel. This makes it difficult for report creators and often leads to problems when trying to manage and style them effectively. By offering more format settings, greater control over displayed data can be provided, especially if axis ticks, new gridlines, and separators are also included.

Set Custom Intervals in X and Y axis should be a standard functionality for effective development.

It is crucial to have customised visuals developed to meet user needs.

Please prioritise this functionality development - as it is basic set in Excel.....

I would like to request to customize intervals on the axis in Power BI

This ability exists in Excel so it is odd that the same is not available in PowerBI.

I would like to see an extension of this where as in Excel there are Major and Minor settings for the tick marks also. This would allow us to have the intervals for numbering set to allow ease of readability while having the smaller tick marks to give a better scale between.

This is pretty much the most basic aspect of any axis and the inability to set this can make it nearly impossible to use the basic Chart widget in certain cases. For example a y axis of the values 1-5 show 2 and 4, which does not really make it easy to read, 1, 3 and 5 tick marks work much better. This is a basic UX issue and really should be resolved by now.

This idea dates back to 2016 and that just scares me. My colleague could not believe that you were not able to change axis intervals until I showed him this thread. Please ADD. MUST HAVE feature.

The functionality has been there in Excel for as long as I have been working with it... 15+ years. not sure why this isn't just a standard feature in PowerBI?

Please include this in a future enhancement.

Its 2022 and this request from 2016 to include this basic feature still has not been acted upon.

As previously highlighted, this has been in Excel for years & years. Why not Power BI? 🤔

This is such a basic feature - it is bizarre that it is not offered yet. You can do it in Excel and even PowerPoint! Hard to explain to people who don't create on PowerBI that the feature is legitimately missing, when even they know it's possible in other programs...
