Zoom sliders are problematic not only for reasons of functionality and behavior, but also they simply aren’t very aesthetically pleasing, which makes users avoid them, missing the benefits they provide to Cartesian visualizations. The design, behavior, and functionality needs to be redesigned and enhanced.
