Wow,.. Planned and under development for 5 years? Ok lets break this down. 1. Why do we need this feature? A: Many END users only need copy of visualisation / data table for Excel spreadsheet or power point. They need it asap & ready for small changes. 2. Why the workaround isn´t working ? A: Workaround loses the table style & formating during the export. Step 1. save *.csv. step 2. Do "text to columns". Step 3. format the table. This might be really fast and easy for power users but it´s huge hurdle for some END-users.

Biggest problem for me is for my customers to be able to copy visuals and the data behind them into Word documents, PDFs, etc. It's the most requested feature. At present they have to use Snip...! So unprofessional. If I had $5,000 per month then I could upgrade to P1 Premium and use Paginated Reports.....which, like 99% of users, I don't have that kind of money.

My colleague learned BI through Tableau. He says "We are trying to copy from a Microsoft product to the clipboard, why can Tableau do this so much better than Power BI?" Please promote this feature guys! surely a quick win

Export is not the same as copy/paste when the report is embedded to the web. Our company currently does not allow export data due to privacy concerns.

Still only planned? Really? This feature is so essential I couldn't imagine that it is not yet implemented... All the workarounds are so silly and unsatisfying - not really professional. Please implement that - can't be a huge thing.

Come on guys, we're now in 2021 and we still can't copy the underlying data. If it really is so difficult to implement please explain it to us instead of ignoring this request.

Yeah, it's kind of crazy that end users cannot copy/paste, or otherwise export data in a way that Qlikview, Tableau, etc., has been able to do for years. Is the MS policy simply to drive users to Report Builder/SSRS rather than throw in more xml? Having to build the visuals, measures, and format them in Power BI AND Report Builder is not efficient. Yet, this is the only way to do it Power BI. Try to convince an entire team of end users to export a custom Matrix. They'll ask you to build more in Qlikview and wonder why you're employed in Power BI. In the Export data to xlsx feature, simply add the ability to export format's, too. Please remove Power BI's dependency on Report Builder/SSRS.
