Automatic Inline Hierarchy Causing Unreadable Charts

A Recent update to the online service has changed the way fields are displayed when using the drilling down all functionality. For my scenario I have distributors, reps and customers. When I use the drill down all function the chart now shows distributor rep customer all in one line. This is way too much text for a chart and we don't need this functionality for this chart. This issue doesn't happen in desktop but only when I publish to the web. Please help i'm getting multiple complaints on this topic. For more info and other users having similar issues you can see the ideas forum link below. The user zapppsr has a good recommendation I believe would be the best. http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/How-to-disable-the-automatic-inline-hierarchy/m-p/62180#M12153

This only appears in the online version. Desktop behaves as expected. As an example, If I have a drill down for Sales using Region and Dealer: The X Axis labels will only have the Region as expected. When I drill down to Dealer, the X Axis label is a concatenation of Region and Dealer. This is not the behavior that happens in desktop and really causes issues in online and mobile.

I have the exact issue with multiple reports. I have also lost my drill down arrows on IPad mobile app. This began with the last 2 August updates.

May I suggest you implement the visual aspect of this the same way Excel does? It doesnt repeat the parent group name repeatedly for each category, it only lists the parent on the axis once and then adds lines to group the children. Example here: http://i.stack.imgur.com/XBDhQ.png

This issue is starting today... When I activate a 2nd level of drill down, the data in the related graphic is "mixing" the fields used for the visualization. Please help 🙂

It's from the Inline Hierarchy update. It's causing many problems including invalid reports. It's on their radar but no eta on a fix yet. https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/360879-issues/suggestions/15819574-automatic-inline-hierarchy-causing-unreadable-char

Well....it now shows up in my desktop after latest update!!!! I don't know how much more I can add to what has already been said....except to re-iterate how many of my "customers" have been pissed off about this fiasco. AND...the first line of blame is those of us who published our reports to our internal customers....and got blindsided in meetings with our executives!! Please, please prioritize the fix...and create safeguards and policies so this cannot happen again!

Dear Microsoft, What is the status of the hot fix for this? Your users can't wait a month for the next release to have this fixed. You've already waited a week and those of us who built reports using the previous way the drillable hierarchies worked are having a really painful time dealing with our clients / executives who were already relying upon these reports. I was able to spin the Hot Fix you pushed for the Drill Through changes a couple months ago as a good thing to demonstrate how well the PowerBI Devs listen to their customers and can release fixes in less than 24 hours, but the delay with returning this to the previous way it worked is hurting all of us more and more by the hour. Please fix this ASAP...

Any timeline for this yet? Our company is highly considering switching all our dashboards over to Tableau since they have been unusable for weeks now because of this update. We are at a stand still, which is losing business. This is a huge issue.
