Hi everyone, You should check out Direct Query in Power BI Desktop, it doesn't have the same restrictions as the experience in the service. I am not sure why this isn't there already. As of now it seems I have to delete a data source and re-add it in order to update the schema.

I'm amazed there is no ability to do this now. I want to be able to add a view to a set of reports without deleting and re-attaching the entire dataset.

For Power BI not to refresh schema from Azure SQL is pretty scary.

In addition to updating the Schema for a given table/view, can we update if new Tables/Views are created or old Tables/Views are deleted as well?

This, I would have thought, would be an absolute requirement. I am writing new views all of the time and to keep starting my reports from scratch is ridiculous!

I'm shocked this isn't built in - do I have to delete my data source and all my reports if I add or update a view??!
