Hi all,
I need some clarification on the topic. So On premised data gateway is now available but the scheduled refresh is failing and also the refresh takes too long?
Users connect to the database via ODBC. so is there any problem with the datasource configuration settup? they need some FTP access to connect to the local gateway?

Hello,
We can raise a Power BI support ticket for the schedule refresh failure it may be possible that the failure is due to the gateway or the destination data source.
Also, check that the data mapping is done properly.
As the support engineer will take the gateway logs and help you understand the source of error and troubleshoot the issue.
We can raise the support ticket from https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/support/

Hi @Anonymous ,
First, please check the Refresh History to get the error message.

HI @Anonymous ,
When the scheduled refresh fails, look at the error log and see what the message(s) are. There could be a number of reasons for the refresh to fail. Speed of data refresh should not be linked to the the gateway unless you have something directly hindering the gateway from working on that server. Perhaps you could run a Fiddler trace and see where the hangups are if it is taking a long time? Unless your system has some interesting requirements, they shouldn't have to FTP.
