SASS Cube Gateway Data Source using URL

Have been able to sucessfully connect to my SASS Tabular cube using a url like "server1.company.com", however when I try and setup a gateway datasource using the url I get a 400 Error. I have been able to successfully set up a datasource using the public IP to the server but not the URL. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Sounds more like a DNS issue on the gateway VM. Can you reach the cube by name via SSMS on the gateway?
