Hi Team,
In the Admin Monitoring workspace, we have four models, but we’re only able to connect to one of them, whether from Power BI Desktop or the Service to create custom reports. Is there a way to connect to the other three models as well?
Also, when we click on the OneLake Catalog – Governance for Admins semantic model, we see a Request Access button. However, after submitting the request, it’s unclear where the request is sent or who is responsible for approving it. This model contains valuable information for monitoring Power BI Admin activities.
Thank you in advance!

Hi @tayloramy and @MasonMA ,
Firstly, thank you for the response
Yes, @tayloramy you are correct since this is a Admin Monitoring workspace, we can't control the permissions on the semantic models.

Thank you!
Hi @Bhaskar_D,
That access request is probably going to the developer of these reports. I almost guarantee that he has these emails filtered off directly to trash, and he would never grant a customer access to the models.
Almost all the data in the reports is available from the REST APIs.
My recommendation remains to not try and piggy back off of the Admin Monitoring reports and to build it out yourself. If you can identify what data you're after, we can help you locate the endpoints you can get it from.

Hi @Bhaskar_D,
@MasonMA is correct, however because this is the Admin Monitoring workspace, you can't control the permissions on the semantic models.
These models are maintained by Microsoft and no one in your tenant will have access to them.
I honestly wouldn't try connecting to these models at all, I was doing that once (under the recommendation of the Microsoft employee who develops and maintains them) and then a change happened and I was no longer able to connect, resulting in me needing to rebuild everything from scratch.
What specific data are you trying to get out of them? We might be able to recommend which of the REST APIs you should use to get that data yourself.

Since you can build from one semantic model but not the others, it probably means: you only have Build permission on that one model, and only Viewer or Read access on the other three.
To build content from the remaining three semantic models, my assumption is you will need Item-level Build access on each model, or a higher workspace role like Contributor/Member/Admin.
