SAP BW Message/Group server connectivity to get advantage of load balancer

Power BI allows us top connect to SAP BW system by providing details of server name, instance & client. But it does not have a mechanism to connect with SAP BW message server or group server (with dynamic selection of application server along with instance). Due to this limitation we are only able to connect with a specific application server. As a result it can create huge load in specific server and crash the same. But otherwise if we could connect to message/group server the Load Balancer would have equally distribute the load. So can you implement the same for both Power BI Desktop and Gateway.

It's vital to have an ability to establish a connection to the SAP BW instance using the SAP Router string

Yes, agreed! All our SAP Systems are only reachable through a SAP router!

This is indeed vital! At this moment we cannot access the SAP data directly.

My organisation is moving to a new datacentre and access to SAP BW is then only possible using SAP router strings.

I'm agree it's an issue... I like Power BI, but if we cant use Power BI to connect to SAP because tou don't support SAP router, we will use an other tool...

Hi, Thanks for enabling connectivity with SAP BW using message server; but when we can expect the same to be available from enterprise gateway?

Connecting Power BI to SAP (whatever flavour) is not a nice to have but a requirement, since connections made to SAP through a SAP router leverage landscape security. I dont understand why Microsoft did'nt delivered this standard (not so hard to buildin a connection string entry in a window). For the time being SAP projects are avoiding the use of power BI. SAP router is one of the reasons mentioned.

Is there really no way to connect to SAP bw if it's behind the SAProuter? Can someone knows the ways?

Absolutely vital for us - otherwise PowerBI is worthless for us. All our SAP systems are behind routers.
