Query Editor: Allow R Scripts to Reference Existing Queries

Power BI does not allow R script transformations in queries that reference existing queries. For example, after importing, transforming, and merging multiple inputs using standard M functions, I want to create a new query that includes an R scripted step to further prepare the data so that it can the be used by several other queries that include R scripted steps to perform a variety of statistical functions. But I can't. Power BI only allows R script transformations in the queries that actually import the data. R script transformations cannot be used in queries that only reference the original query. For my purposes, this prevents me from using R in the query Editor since I always need to be using R scripts on a reference to the original data rather than directly on the original data.
