ZappySys has released Drivers for REST API (JSON / XML / SOAP). Using these drivers you can connect to virtually any API service or Large JSON Files in Power BI. It comes with many advanced options such as OAuth Token, Pagination, Error Handling , Query Editor and many more. See below links. https://zappysys.com/blog/howto-import-json-rest-api-power-bi/ https://zappysys.com/blog/call-soap-api-power-bi-read-xml-web-service-data/ Hope this helps!

I am using Power BI and Excel through Power Query with a JSON API with two separate data providers. The functionality that doesn't exist is being able to pass M Parameters into Power Query with JSON. M Parameters only work with Direct queries and JSON is an Import type. Being able to provide a user interface where a pick list can be used that then execute the query would be immensely powerful. I agree with one other comment in this post regarding the documentation. It is really difficult to figure out the syntax for a JSON API call in Power Query.
