Dynamic Date Slicer (improve relative date slicer)

This is a repost of my idea that was closed as completed, but the 'relative date slicer doesn't allow any of the described request hence my idea is not implemented.... The new date slicer is awesome, but it would be so nice if you could set a dynamic date selection instead of a static. With a static filter the user will always have to set the dates before the saved report makes sense - especially as the report gets older. Dynamic options could be YTD, QTD, MTD, WTD, Today, This Year, This Quarter, This Month, This Week and so on. original idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/17004565-dynamic-date-slicer

Please include ability to set relative dates on both ends of the range (e.g. from 90 days ago to 90 days from now), as opposed to being limited to the current date as one end of the range. Thank you!

RE: Dynamic Date Slicer (improve relative date slicer)
BEFORE YOU VOTE: Have you tried using the Preselected Slicer visual?

That slicer is great, it's very close to what we're looking for here for date slicers.

I wonder if the publisher has any plans to extend the selection options to date ranges?

Make sure to include a way to set the time zone for the relative date filter. This time zone should by default correspond to the one where the report is being viewed. Remember to include logic to handle daylight saving time in that area.

Apologies if this is already in the 112 comments, but being able to select 'In the Last n period' AND 'in the next n periods' to create a dynamic rolling window would be a great way to see recent results + upcoming forecasts/plans/etc in an automated way

Please add dynamic filtering also to be handed over to dashboards.

eg: if dynamic filter of last 5 month is set on visual and pinned to a dashboard, this 5 days are converted to static filter 😞

Please fix the relative date slicer as well. When I say last five months, I don't want it to do the day, I want this month including the previous 4. It's a very big frustration having to toggle between "last" and "last (calendar)".

In addition, having a date slicer that the USER can change between relative and between on the fly would be better. I know this can happen via a bookmark, but when you have multiple date slicers, this is a pain. Basically, how DOMO does their date filtering.

Need to be able to set relative timezone when using relative dates.

Desparately needs the ability to specify a measure for the anchor date. As it stands you can choose 'today' or a hard-coded value. This is no good for historic reporting and basically means that the anchor date is only ever (partially) useful when left blank

This should have been a basic feature from the beginning. For years, we've used paginated reports and, before that, Reporting Services reports, and we've always been able to pre-select a time period, allowing the end user to change it at any time. In Power BI, if I want my users to be able to do that, I have to change the slicer values every year at the beginning of the year (we don't do it on a monthly basis, fortunately). We should be able to pre-filter the period slice using DAX functions. This is a very recurrent request from our customers, who can't understand why a modern reporting tool doesn't do this, especially as relative date slicers don't solve the problem because they don't allow you to select a precise period.
