Direct Query

I connected to a SQL database using direct query mode, I would like to be able to pull in data from another source (i.e. excel) to obtain additional data not stored in SQL. Is there a way around this?

Some slow change lookup data such as retail SKU need to be stored in Excel

This would be one of the most requested feature from POWER BI to have the self service capability .
