Date slicer default to today's date automatically when published

Hello,

I am requesting feature where the slicer (date field) default to today's date automatically when published. I have research online and people have workarounds where they have to use calendar tables and/or DAX.

It would be great to have the following:

If slicer has a date field then have a option where you can select default to latest date.
