Current Month Option in Slicer

Dear Fabric Community,

Greetings of the day, hope you are doing well.

This message or idea is regarding the Current month option need to bring in date slicer so that users can focus easily in current month business in opening dashboard regardless of changing the Date/Month/Quarter or year.

I would like to bring your attention here that as of now in Power BI there is no option to keep your Dashboard for current month every time and along with that user can change the date.

I have created a sales Dashboard where user is much interested to see the report for current month only and along with that he want that if he want to change the Date/Month/Quarter/Year then he or she can change but unfortunately this option is not available in Power BI.

So I would like to bring you here that as well as we have the relatives date option we should have a current month option so that we can save our report in current month so as per date are changing today/tomorrow the report automatically pick the today date in order to date changes.

Please do the needful here so that we can proceed further.

I have been able to create something to this affect by creating a calculated column using a conditional statement like IF(), which will compare the date you are interested in, to the current date using TODAY() (or month, or quarter or year - whatever your situation requires). If the date in your data = TODAY(), then "current day" else date. This way, when your data model updates, the calculated column will re-calculate which date corresponds to "current day". Have this value selected in the slicer when you publish your report to the service to display the "current day" whenever anyone opens up to start.
