Composite models when connected to AS models (PBI datasets and Azure Analysis Services)

We really love the new feature of 'Composite Models' in the Power BI July 2018 update! This enables us to join custom lists with DirectQuery sources. It would also be beneficial if this would also work when connected to SSAS Tabular in DirectQuery. This would stronlgy improve the enterprise features of Power BI.

This is something that we would also love to see implemented. We're moving to start using SSAS and being able to blend that data in Power BI, or blend data from multiple cubes together is something we will really need.

'+2 to this. Not everything is just in one cube...

Would be nice if someone from the Power BI Team provides an update on this. Even an update that says this is just way too complicated so don't expect it anytime in the near future is fine so we can stop thinking about it and follow alternate paths.

This would be such a nice feature! Imagine letting users access the centralized model were all relations and measures are defined, and then let them add external data such as population to see correlation between sales and population in different cities. Please add support for this ASAP! 🙂

this is really a show stopper for my organization we should be able to use multiple data sources in SSAS tabular model. Please add this feature ASAP. We are planing to buy premium Power Services but seems like I have to think again for the same. This is the basic features in other BI tool not sure why this is not available.

without this function PowerBi is just useless to work with SSAS. We need to mix data from SSAS,excel, sql and other sources. No we cant switch platform for our dashboards from Excel to PBI

This is a very important feature and I feel frustrated and dejected when business users keep asking for this feature. This is going to be a huge difference in user adoption and we(IT) can't keep giving the same reason every time. I am struggling to understand why anyone from Microsoft wouldn't comment on this as to indicate there stand on this. I(and my users) am losing my patience. MS please let us know a) can this be done ? b)If can't, what is the reason PS: The other tools are able to give this feature and why you can't ???
