Analyze in Excel Date Columns - Convert Text -> Date

When connecting to Power BI datasets using Analyze in Excel, all date fields from models show up in pivot tables as text, which disables filtering or grouping for date groups. It is possible to fix this or give us a workaround to set columns as date? Thanks!

After all these years this is still out here, WOW. Why is it so hard to understand that without the ability to group the date in the Pivot Table, the connector is essentially worthless for most use cases? I will keep on using the Excel data connector options directly to the data source to get proper data formats.

My god .... this is really said... it is hard to see some Microsoft areas working on big things, bringing so good products but in the other hand other with really basic problems that cause this much impact on a software. until today no one looked at this... this is common problem of a bureaucratic process of listening to client demands through a single channel and plastered process classifying tall in the same bucket

Still not fixed? I can't imagine this would be a huge undertaking for devs to resolve.

How can this not be posible? what's the point of ANY analysis if you can not have a clear date filter? Come on this can not be in a "need votes" status it is just a BASIC functionnality

There are a few other requests for the same thing. This issue makes the analyze in excel rather difficult to use

Why is this even a voting issue??? I mean, I can deal with the fact I have to use measures for values. But it's a Microsoft to Microsoft product, why isn't the date passed. At least if I could connect to the source in the power query section of excel I could reformat.

Getting a bit ridiculous having to wait this long. I agree makes analyzing in excel obsolete.
