The newly available groups cannot be custom sorted unless additional sort column for this group is added in the model which is not so good. While creating the custom groups, Arrow buttons to move groups Up Down should be available and this order should be used by default sorting unless the user wants to sort asc or desc by some measure.
The fact that this even has to be a "feature" is a severe lack of understanding of what clients need. The workarounds don't even work half of the time as they are calculations dependent on the original, calculated field, leading to circular reference errors.
The mere fact that this request has been waiting since 2016 is astounding. This is a feature available in other applications. Maybe the devs can hold off on new DAX formulas until they add basic things like custom sorts for groups.
Please can this be included in the roadmap, sometimes the small things make a big difference (Just like a select all on a slicer search would do as well)
This is a no brainer. To have to make your own sorting by putting number in front of the text to sort it in the order that you want is tedious and the outcome of the text is not good.
I am new to PowerBI and was amazed and really disappointed to find out that using your own sort order in an easy way (without using extra sorting table or giving numbers to the variables) is not possible. Tableau and QlikSense handle this perfectly, come on Microsoft!
Sorting legends is such a hassle in Power BI. Every graph needs some custom table and a massive unintuitive rigmarole just to get it looking like Excel. And I used to think Excel graphs were awful.
