Scheduled Refresh timeout

Over the past week, we've been encountering issues with the scheduled refresh of a dataset.  This dataset refreshes in under 5 minutes manually, but when the refresh is scheduled it takes over 2 hours and then times out.  This is happening in a standard workspace (not premium).  Has there been a planned reduction in the capacity for standard workspaces?

Hi @jcapezzuto ,

From the Microsoft Official document , we know:

>>Note also that the configured refresh time might not be the exact time when Power BI starts the next scheduled process. Power BI starts scheduled refreshes on a best effort basis. The target is to initiate the refresh within 15 minutes of the scheduled time slot, but a delay of up to one hour can occur if the service can't allocate the required resources sooner.

If you still have this issue for Power BI, you'd better create a support ticket in Power BI Support to get further help.

Thank you, Amy, but that is not the problem.  I can see the actual start times by viewing the refresh history, and they are only a few minutes off from the scheduled start time.  Even considering this the overall duration is still much longer than running the same refresh manually from within the service.

Last night, the scheduled refresh completed normally in 15 minutes.  I'm curious to know if other users are seeing the same inconsistent behavior before I open a support ticket.

We are on the shared service (not Premium) as well and I've been seeing random failures for weeks. This morning while trying to recover from a weekend power outage that caused failures on my end, an on-demand refresh has taken more than two hours and still isn't done. I'm guessing it's because of this: Frustrating for sure, regardless of the reason.

Scheduled refresh worked well last night.  Hopefully the problem has been resolved.
