Schedule Refresh failure while connecting to Azure SQL database through AD OAuth

Hi Team,

We are facing the issue in refreshing the reports using schedule refresh in the Power BI service.Azure SQL database is the source which we are processing for these reports. Login to these reports are based on Azure Oauth. In our scenario the refresh is failing randomly for different tables and in rare case refresh might complete usefully. Error message is listed below

An error occurred while processing the data in the dataset.
Refresh failed:

Dashboard Name has failed to refresh.
Failure details: The last refresh attempt failed because of an internal service error. This is usually a transient issue. If you try again later and still see this message, contact support.
The credentials provided for the SQL source are invalid.

And also attached the screenshot of the email alerts from the Microsoft Team

Kindly revert us back with a solution. Well appreciated well in advance.

Thanks & Regards

Hi @Anonymous ,

Please check if you allow Azure Service Access on Azure Portal. You must have it enabled, otherwise it will always throw "invalid credential error" even you provide correct credential.

Hi Team,

Azure Service Access on Azure Portal is enabled in my case. Thus at that point we cannot say that the cause is due to the disabling the Azure Service Access.

Thanks

I get these issues from time to time, usually a refresh later on will work.  Often i find these come up more during Peak periods, where the resources are under the heaviest load.  If you find this issue keeps occuring at the same time every day, but not others, then I would suggest you are having a resource congestion issue.
