Report access

Hi experts!!

I have one workspace and I have published a report in it. Workspace access have been given to 15 users for the report. Now I have published another report in the same workspace. Problem is that, all the 15 user who have access to first report are also able to see new report. I want to give access to the  new report, only for 5 another users. How can I do it. I have used import mode for the data. Please give me the solution.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, @dkbr

Do not give your report consumers workspace access, instead share specific reports from that workspace with them.

If you have  a large number of consumers for say, report A, then create a security group, add the users to the security group, then share the report with the security group.

Hey @dkbr ,

sharing content (reports and dashboards) is intended by using Power BI Apps: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/consumer/end-user-apps?WT.mc_id=DP-MVP-5003068

You can configure multiple audiences (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-create-distribute-apps?WT.mc_id...), so that one group of users is seeing the first group and ond group is seeing the second report.

Hopefully, this helps to tackle your challenge.

Regards,

Tom
