Repeated refresh failures - Internal Service Error

Greetings,

Approx 1 day ago I started getting refresh failures on the Power BI Cloud service for two seperate datasets. No recent changes to either of the Power BI models.

Source data is in Microsoft CRM Online. With no prior issues. All error messages are stating : Internal Service Error

Dataset #1 :

Last refresh failed: Thu Jun 15 2017 07:33:02 GMT-0700 (Pacific Daylight Time)
The last refresh attempt failed because of an internal service error.

@dporter,

There are some proposals for you troubleshooting this issue.

1. Use latest version of Power BI Desktop(2.47.4766.542) to create reports for your data source.
2. Use fiddler to monitor what happened during the refresh process.

Lydia Zhang

Yes, republishing the report solves this issue. However, it is not sustainable to keep republishing reports everytime a new version comes out.

From what I have noticed, with the Internal Service Error, the report does get refreshed but it does not reflect on to the dashboard. The obvious reason seems to be it can't refresh the tiles automatically in the refresh process. Manual refresh tiles does refresh the dashboards in this scenario. (Although you would still get the Internal Service Error the next time you refresh)

Thank you ...  using the latest version of Power BI and re-publishing to the Power BI Service resolved this issue.
