License

Hello, i have a power bi pro license, but when i go to my account - there is nothing report files shared with me. But if go to the direct link to the report file, shared with me - there is it! Then I try open it, and service say me that i haven't license on power bi pro and order me buy it or use trial version! - So i choose trial - and then report is opening.

Why i can't see the report file in my account? And why power bi doesn't see my license when i try open file direct link?

Help me please

Check with your Office Admin that if you have Pro-License assigned to your user

or click on settings and go to "manage personal storage" and see if you are assigned with "Pro User"

- The reports that are shared with you comes under "Shared with Me" on left pane.

- For Pro User, If you had a shared workspace then you need to click on "Workspaces" and select appropiate workspace where reports are published.

And that how is looking shared_with_me  and workspaces

But when i click on direct link of the shared report - i can see the report, but open it may with trial license cause power bi can't find my power bi pro license

Hi @admit ,

Are you trying to share report to external user with pro license? It is by design. You can refer to : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-share-dashboards#share-a-dashboa...

/*When recipients in your organization click the link, Power BI adds the dashboard or report to their Shared with me list page. They can select your name to see all the content you've shared with them. When recipients outside your organization click the link, they see the dashboard or report, but not in the usual Power BI portal.*/

"Are you trying to share report to external user with pro license?" - No we trying open the report shared for us

Hi @admit ,

It could be the issue of tenant.  Since you have Pro account I suggest you  try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".

Hi admit,

Is this a share on a different tenant?  If so, there are problems right now that Power BI team is working through with shared reports from different tenants/organizations.

I would appreciate Kudos if my response was helpful. I would also appreciate it if you would mark this as a solution if it solved the problem. Thanks!

Hi,

Do you know if they have found some solutions yet? Or have a link to the actual case? I share a report to a different organisation/tenant and since about 2 months they cant open my reports. I have a PRO license and they dont. Have worked perfectly for over a year before.

Maybe Microsoft has changed it so that everyone need PRO license?

Best regards

Marcus
