Shared Dataset access from another app

I have a dataset published to Workspace 1, and a report connected to this dataset with live connect (shared dataset).

 

Workspace 2 needs to have this report as well. I will therefore use the "Save a copy" command in the service in Workspace 1 and save to Workspace 2. 

 

Workspace 2 has an app with its own list of members, and this app would include this report saved into Workspace 2. The members of this app - to be able to access the report from the app - is it okay for them to just be permissioned to the Workspace 2 app directly? No other permissions required?

    That should work

    What you might need to do, is to go into the dataset permissions and give those users the build permission on the dataset.

    To my knowledge, you need to go to Workspace 1, go into the dataset permissions and give those users permission on the dataset.

    Then users in Workspace 2 could get the copy report.
