We are in the testing phases in PowerBI, and it just doesn't seem like this is a stable platfor yet. Is there something I'm missing? Is there a support option?
Need this working reliably
Hi @jmiridium,
What was the data source your dataset connected to? Were you refreshing dataset manually or setting schedule refresh?
As is pointed by error message, you should configure a matched gateway for corresponding data source so that schedule refresh can be applied to dataset. Please check the gateway settings:
If you havn't installed a gateway on your machine, you can click the arrow down on the top right of ribbon on service site to download a gateway.

Gateway is installed and working on other data sources
Hi @jmiridium,
Please check whether the data source is connected to gateway successfully?
Also, in this dataset which is always prompting error message, does it contain multiple types of data source?
Regards,
Yuliana Gu
Both the personal gaeway and the on site is working. However they have different reasons they can't connect
Hi @jmiridium,
In this dataset, did you connect to multiple data sources? If so, you should configure gateway for each data source.
Regards,
Yuliana Gu
It's all from the same data source
Hi @jmiridium,
What is your data source?
Please check the connection string you configured in .pbix file for dataset to make sure it is exactly the same as what you configured for gateway on service site.
Best regards,
Yuliana Gu
