In a complex semantic model, it is often desireable to get the smallest layout possible. This is accomplished by collapsing all the tables to show only the join keys. However, right now, if you click the "Reset Layout" button in the lower right corner, it expands all the tables before resetting the layout. If I have all the tables collapsed, I want the reset button to lay out the semantic model with the tables collapsed.

Let's say you got 2 or more pipelines called from an orchestrator pipeline. And let's say you have up to 80 activities per pipeline called (so the assumption here is 'a lot' and no trivial sequencing) with multiple uses of Copy Data activity.
The following would be nice to have:
1. enable logging in the Settings tab of Copy Data activity without needing to provision beforehand some ADSL Gen2 storage account
2. having a inspector attached to any activity and being able to inspect the activity and/or data flow state changes during debug time
3. being able to step in/out (just like in Visual Studio) with all the relevant parameters with their values nicely displayed in a user-friendly manner to the side or bottom or top of the screen
4. being able to create variable and parameter watchlists
5. having a pane that shows which activity is accessing/modifying which variable during debug time
6. having a pane showing what is happening when multiple variables are accessed in parallel and activities are running in parallel
7. showing a snapshot of top or tail of a SQL result set for any Scrip or Copy Data activity.
and so on. You get the point. Basically the idea being to have the necessary and most useful IDE tooling integrated with the Fabric pipeline design surface so that we can more easily and quickly drill down into what might seem strange behavior due to a potential bug before immediately rushing to open a new support ticket when it might not be necessary.
This idea stems from the fact that too much of what's going on under the hood is transparent to the end user. And since users do not necessarily have the time (I sure don't) to get lost in the 100s of pages of documentation to sleuth around in order to surmise some sort of theory as to why stuff doesn't seem to work, not to mention that the documentation itself might not even be up to date yet, this idea might help the more advanced users perform root cause analysis faster and more accurately, and thus provide more useful feedback not only to support, but also the community at large.

One place where paginated reports still have a robust use case are for formatted reports such as invoices or letters. It would be nice if the web designer for paginated reports had a simple interface and pre-built templates for some of these common use cases. Users could then drag and drop their data elements into the template and in minutes have a professional looking paginated report. These templates would need to work seemlessly with either pipelines or Power Automate so that you could loop through them.

It might be useful to have a mechanism for copying Files from Sharepoint to a Fabric Lakehouse based on a trigger E.g. when a new file is added to a Sharepoint location. Currently, there doesn't seem to be a way for doing this, please correct me if I am wrong. Many Thanks!!

I would like to request the ability to convert a live query connection to import mode in Power BI. This feature would be extremely beneficial for scenarios where users need to switch from a live connection to an import mode without rebuilding the entire report. It would save time and effort, especially when dealing with complex reports and datasets. Benefits: Flexibility to switch between connection modes based on project requirements. Improved efficiency in managing and updating reports. Enhanced user experience by reducing the need to recreate reports from scratch. Thank you for considering this feature request.

Description: In Power BI Desktop, text boxes automatically use a spell checker that shows red underlines for words it doesn’t recognize. This is distracting, especially when using brand names, technical terms, or non-English words. Please provide an option to disable spell check in text boxes (or across the entire report) so that report visuals stay clean and professional-looking. A toggle in the Options menu or a right-click “Disable spellcheck” per textbox would be very helpful. Thank you!

Currently is is not possible to change the ado-git branch for a workspace if there are changes with the git status ' uncomited'. This gives an error in the gui. If these changes are made by another user, you first need to contact the other user to ask her to commit. This takes time. Request to enable branche switching for user 1 , while there are uncommited changes from user2, in a shared git workspace.

It would be great to see a connector from GA4 as a data source or big query into one lake or real time for click-stream analytics. A less complex way of getting this data into fabric would be great.

We have a need for our Sales team to present dashboards while offline (not connected to the internet). The only option we seem to have is to use Power BI Desktop, the issue is the are too many editor options to provide a good presentation by non-technical users. Tableau has a reader tool that worked well but now we have converted to Power BI and we cannot find a similar solution. My ask to the Power BI team is to create a viewer App or add a Presentation view to Power BI Desktop like in PowerPoint that only allows interaction with slicers and everything else is read only.

I have created various reports with a dark color theme as I prefer this as well as many other users. For some users, lighter themes and modes seem to be more appealing and it would be great if Power BI had a built in toggle function to switch between dark and light mode for users. When changing between both modes, you should be able to disable its interaction with certain report content - for example preventing bars in a chart from changing colors as you toggle between dark and light mode.

In an App, one can create a section and under that section have several reports. However, there is no second level section. In other words in would be nice to have "sub sections" and organize reports by different areas in a section. For instance, in our company we would like to have something like: Operations (section) Drilling (second level section) Report 1 Report 2 ... Report n Accounting (second level section) Report 1 Report 2 ... Report n Planning (Section) USA Planning (second level section) Report 1 Report 2 ... Report n Europe Planning (second level section) Report 1 Report 2 ... Report n That way it is much easier to organize our Apps.

In PQ, when using row filters on date columns, it would be helpful if when using "in the previous"/similar filter options, to have an option to include today, or this year, depending on the filter iteration. This would be similar to the checkbox for include today found in the relative date slicer type.

Proposal: Support for CTEs and Dynamic SQL in DirectQuery for SQL Server Problem Description Currently, when using DirectQuery in Power BI, certain features like CTEs (Common Table Expressions) and Dynamic SQL are limited or do not work as expected. This can significantly reduce flexibility, especially in complex queries or scenarios where temporary tables or dynamic query generation are necessary for performance or functionality. Proposed Solution Enable full support for CTEs and Dynamic SQL when using DirectQuery with SQL Server. This would involve: Allowing CTEs in DirectQuery Full support for Common Table Expressions (CTEs) in queries that are sent from Power BI to SQL Server. Allow multiple CTEs within a query to simplify complex data manipulations without needing to break the query into multiple steps. Supporting Dynamic SQL Enable the execution of dynamic SQL within DirectQuery queries. Allow users to construct queries dynamically based on parameters, user selections, or filtering logic, without limitations. Query Optimization Work on ensuring that dynamic SQL and CTEs do not negatively affect query performance in DirectQuery mode. Provide optimizations to ensure that queries with CTEs or dynamic SQL still return results efficiently from SQL Server. Use Cases Complex Reporting Logic: When building complex queries that require temporary results or hierarchical data manipulations using CTEs. Dynamic Reports: When users need to dynamically alter the query structure based on input parameters, filters, or slicers in Power BI. Large Data Models: To efficiently manage and manipulate large datasets that require dynamic table generation or complex logic, which may otherwise require creating multiple views or stored procedures. Benefits Improved Flexibility: Users can build more complex and flexible queries without limitations on SQL structure. Advanced Reporting: Allow more sophisticated reports and data manipulations that are not possible with the current DirectQuery restrictions. Better Performance: With proper optimization, dynamic queries and CTEs can help reduce the need for redundant tables or steps, improving performance.

Problem Description Power BI currently allows embedding HTML content through custom visuals, but JavaScript execution is not supported. This limitation restricts interactivity, prevents dynamic content updates, and makes it difficult to integrate external APIs or custom logic. Proposed Solution Microsoft could introduce a new visual: "HTML Content with JavaScript", which would allow Power BI users to embed both HTML and JavaScript in a controlled environment. This visual could support: Inline JavaScript execution – Allow scripts within <script> tags to run. Event-based interactivity – Enable JavaScript functions to react to user inputs, such as clicks or hover actions. Power BI Data Context Integration – Allow JavaScript to access Power BI fields or filters dynamically. Secure Execution Sandbox – Prevent security risks by limiting access to external resources and enforcing strict mode policies. Use Cases Custom Visual Effects: Create animated charts, dynamic tooltips, or real-time UI updates. External API Integrations: Fetch and display live data from web services without Power Automate. Advanced Filtering & User Interaction: Enable form-based inputs, advanced filtering options, or custom UI elements. Benefits Expands Power BI’s Capabilities – More flexibility to design interactive and dynamic dashboards. Improves User Experience – Allows richer visuals and better interactivity. Reduces Workarounds – Eliminates the need to embed Power Apps or external web components for advanced functionality.
