See Records feature improvements

The 'See Records' feature is a great feature but is not complete. It needs to be able to 1. Be used with all types of visuals (charts, tables, matrix, custom visuals) 2. Compatible with Calculated measures 3. Allow for feature to be turned on or off for each individual visual

#3 would be super-important! It (ie. turning off See Records) would highly improve usablity of PBI in vizualising sensitive data, like survey data where each row represents answers of single individual. The "data validation" - argument on nescessity of See records -function is inadequate. The one who creates PBI-report needs to be aware of the level of data validity and act accordingly. In See records -function does not actually ensure the data validity for end user at any level. The data can be false despite of the row level visibilty.

In addition to the three points - I force a graph to show all months on x axis even when half way through a year even though there is no data in later months by using the "show items with no data" (I have a linked table with months). However, by doing this the "See Records" function fails as we get a error message saying "We cannot display the detailed records table for this data source without a unique key". Please amend this so records can be shown for those months / axis point that are there.

As pointed out in a post on the community forum, you can exploit this flaw to see the names of individuals in an otherwise anonymous chart. There's even an example *promoted by Microsoft's own BI blog* showing charity beneficiaries on the chart 'number of projects by area', here: https://app.powerbi.com/view?r=eyJrIjoiZTM5ZDc1ZGQtNDEyNy00OGNkLTk2MzctNGExOWQ5NTQyYjUwIiwidCI6Ijg3ZjhjYWY0LWJhZDktNGQxMS1iOGU2LWYxNTVkOWIxMmFjOSIsImMiOjZ9 This needs a fix!

Being able to edit the columns and have those edits stick is important. Myself and our users can edit what columns they see but there is no way to control the columns that show up from the start. This is a must have.

Number three would be particularly valuable. I work in a public agency with highly sensitive data - not being able to turn it off really limits how widely I can share.

Not only has it been requested for over 2 years, it looks like PowerBI team hasn't even acknowledged the need of this. Ridiculous. There HAS to be a way to save the setup of desired columns so that you don't have to manually arrange it everytime you come back to See records.

I can see the validity of all three but #2 may be a deal breaker for me. Seems like this would be a basic capability since it is already included in PowerPivot. Unfortunately I may have to switch my reporting to Tableau because of this issue.

I desperately need this feature to be fixed. This is pretty ridiculous to have to edit the See Records every single time I need to see a date column.

All of a sudden every dimension I have comes across in the See Records and the assistance I got from the help desk was to un-click the fields .... that defeats the purpose for the business users .... there needs to be a way to setup the desired number of columns during the setup of the dashboard. PLEASE!
