SQL Server Analysis Service connection to Dataflow

Support Dataflow connections to SQL Server Analysis Service (SSAS), which desktop data sets allow users to do. At the moment, dataflow does not even support the use of a copied M script from desktop connected to SSAS in a blank query. Please provide a native connector for SSAS in the next update.

SSAS connector is available in Power BI to create datasets but not in Dataflow so we can't create SSAS datasets via Dataflow.

This looks disappointing as the connectors are not in sync with in Power BI between Power BI report dataset with Dataflow dataset.

Please add this connector.

Same ideia for Datamarts. Today if you have a complete model in SSAS with 30 tables, you must redo the work in a Datamart.

It has been four years, but it looks like Microsoft is ready to improve dataflows, and allow us to connect to on-prem SQL SSAS.

Here is the release wave for 2023, with a "public preview" in April:

Use the SQL Server Analysis Services

connector in Power BI dataflows

Yes, yes. This is really needed. There is a ton of corporate data living in SQL Analysis Services, even right here within Microsoft. Often there is no way to get to the backend sources, and the SQLAS models have added essential semantic layer constructs / metrics / etc. Really need a connector for this data source.

Did this actually happen?? Did support for dataflow accessing On-Prem SSAS get include in a release?
