Public URL for Dashboards

We (and many others) would like to be able to have a public URL for any dashboard that is created. This would enable us to share visualizations outside our organization, with partners, etc.

We will think about enabling this. Won't "embedding" in a public site via iframe be sufficient?

I think that would be sufficient for sure. Is this on the current road map/have an ETA to public release?

No, embedding won't be sufficient. Why create a new page on a website when it is already available on PowerBI.com?

Lack of easily sharing with "the world" (even my organization) with a simple URL is a big turn off. Content packs require instructions. Groups require me to manage them which isn't practical for "the world". Email invitations,.. same problem. I just want a simple URL I can give to anyone (even if it's limited to my organization for now) and be confident that they can open it.

Embedding would still require the user to login. If we are creating a dashboard for public use, like on our website, we cannot force visitors to have a PowerBI account to see that content.

The Tableau Public Gallery currently offers the ideal with both an embed option and a URL link. The embed option is for a fully functional visualization and not simply a snapshot too.

Embedding on some other site would require to have another site, set up a web page each time, create the page with the iFrame. If powerBI is aimed at non web developers this fails the first hurdle

Embedding = pita make it easy to share a public read only no account required to view option.

I agree for cross organization sharing this would be ideal.

In my eyes, iFrame would be sufficient. But first of all we need to have the chance to share data to external users not from the own organisation. 🙂
