A user tried to branch out a workspace with a a pipeline a copy activity and 2 connections for source and destination.
This failed with the error mentioning the user didn't have access to the connection.
We checked the security groups on the connection. The user had permissions via a entra group that had permissions on the connection.
So what was the problem?
After some research we found the problem was in the git connection (Not in a data level connection). The user had no privileges to use the service-connection on the project repo in ado. It would be good if this distinction was made in the error message.
