I am moving a number of queries from pbix files into Dataflows. Being able to easily transfer queries from a pbix file into Dataflows is essential to make this task easier and faster.

I was going to post this exact idea as "allow me to promote a Power Query to a Dataflow"

I don't know how this doesn't have more votes. This would be a huge benefit and in my opinion, would add more value than further development of the user interface in Dataflows. We can continue to use the already brilliant functionality in desktop and push it straight to dataflows.

I posted a related request to copy/paste from PQ desktop editors (not just PBI but also Excel and VS): https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/36184816-copy-paste-m-queries-with-dependencies-from-deskto

Also export dataflows to a .pbix file. Since they can be deleted easily, there should be an easy backup possibility for the scripts.

Any movement on this request in 2022? The recent announcement about new dataflow connectors is great, but it seems like I will need to rebuild all of my existing queries from .pbix file as dataflows in order to take advantage of them. Why can't we import supported data source configurations from a .pbix file to create a new dataflow?
