Currently, Power Query in Power BI does not have a direct way to read variables defined in a Fabric Variable Library. Adding this capability would unlock several key benefits:
Dynamic Parameter Management: Parameters could be centrally managed in the workspace instead of hardcoded or manually updated inside Power Query.
Security and Governance: By linking to the Variable Library, sensitive values (such as environment-specific parameters) could be handled more securely.
Simplified Environment Switching: Teams could switch between DEV, TEST, and PROD environments without manually editing queries, since the parameters would be controlled at the workspace level.
This feature would make parameter administration more dynamic, secure, and aligned with Fabric’s vision of centralized governance and workspace-driven management.
