Customize color of non-highlighted table or matrix row / column / cell

In a table or matrix, when a row / column / cell is highlighted, the other cells are de-emphasized by making the background color lighter. While this works fine on a light-background report, it has the opposite effect on dark-background reports. Please change this increasing the transparency of non-highlighted cells, or create a formatting option to specify the color and transparency of non-highlighted cells. Thank you!
