Hi All,
I have created a Power BI summary table something like this
If ABC, XYZ, PQR, EFG are my clients for whom I have created this report, my queries are
1-how do I share this report with users not registered with my organization domain name or how do I share the report with my clients
2-If somehow I managed to share the report with a particular client (say XYZ), how do I restrict him/her dynamically, having access to other client's data. Basically I wanted to ask, are there any logged in user level filters that we can apply to the reports? expecting something like this (if logged in as client-XYZ)
I would emphasize on the second point; any help would be much appreciated.
Thanking In Advance
To share dashboard to users outside of your organization, you just need to grant access to those outside users (they will be listed as Guest). They will receive an email with the link to your shared dashboard. Those users have to sign in to Power BI to see the dashboard. If they don't have a Power BI account, they can create one after clicking the link. For more details, see: Share a dashboard and reports with colleagues and others
If you want to limit the access on user level, you need to configure row level security. Just add the corresponding users as members of a role.
If you are looking on how to implement Row Level Security look at my blog post below.
It shows you some of the things that you need to know. As well as it also has a link to Kasper De Jonge, who has a great example on how to get Row Level Security up and running. And he even has a sample file to work with.
You want to use Row Level Security (RLS) to secure your client data per user.
