Unable to open exported PowerPoint

Hi there,

Could you kindly advise as to why I am unable to open my exported PowerPoint file when downloaded from Power BI Web. When opening the PowerPoint file the following pop up appears, "Microsoft PowerPoint is trying t recover your information", followed by the following pop up "Microsoft PowerPoint has stopped working".  My report that I have exported is a one pager.

Thank You.

Hi,@Cilicia

According to your description, you can export pbix files to PowerPoint normally.

We recommend that you could troubleshoot the PowerPoint-related issues first.

Here is a link for how to deal with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint failed to open with message " is trying to recover your information".

If you figure this problem out , there is still something wrong with the PowerPoint files (Because some visual types are not supported, and will not be exported to PowerPoint.) ,you may check the following reasons:

Custom visuals that haven't been certified) aren't supported.

The ESRI ArcGIS visual is not supported

R and Python visuals are not supported.

Background images are cropped with the chart's bounding area. We recommend that you remove background images before you export to PowerPoint.

For more information ,you can refer to this :

Hope it helps.

Best Regards,

Caitlyn Yan

Thank You @KBO .

I have tried turning off and on my PC - still have the same issue.

I will perhaps try again later.

Hi @Cilicia ,

maybe it is a Power Point Error? Try to turning of and on your PC.

If you are able to download it normally it works. Otherwise it could also be that the Power BI Service had an issue at the moment. Try it later again. But check first Power Point ;).

Best,

Kathrin
