Share: include my changes

Hi there,

The "Share" functionality within a powerbi.com report does not seem to work properly anymore. Recently, the "Include my changes" feature has stopped functioning across all reports.

Is this a known issue?

Thank you for replying. I appreciate that 🙂

What I mean is the following: when a user wants to share their current selection to discuss the results with their team, they click the Share button and choose ‘Include my changes’. Normally, this should preserve all slicer selections and filters for the recipient. However, in this case the selections are not being saved, so the recipient receives the report without the applied filters.

Hi. Can you show a picture of that "include changes"? I can't reproduce or find that, I thought it was for keeping filters at report settings but it looks you are talking about something else. As far as I remember, there is no feature like that. You can manually add filters to the url if you want a user to open it and get filter pane operations, but nothing like the current status between users at a link. I have checked the docs and there no behaviour like you are saying:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-share-dashboards#share-reports-...

I hope that make sense

Hello there,

I do not know what happened, but I tested it again and it works fine like before. In other words the problem is solved. Thank you for replies!

@AlexNL
If you are reffering to the option include my changes, i can see that option fine, where as if you are reffering include my changes in email subscription, in that case

when Include my changes is checked, Power BI subscribes you to the report including all changes you've made to the report. Changes include:

  • filters (filter pane)
  • slicers
  • personalized visuals
  • cross-filtering or cross-highlighting
  • drill down or drill up
  • bookmarks
  • spotlights
  • focus mode

Hi. Besides the fact that the best practice for sharing is using power bi apps or adding viewer to workspace, can you explain more? what is "not work properly"? (error, not showing report, not saving changes, etc)

With "include my changes", do you mean the seatting of letting the user keep the filters selected? did you check if the setting is like you are expecting? (you can check it at report settings)

I hope that helps,
