Hello everyone, i'm trying find a solution for a schedule refresh problem, it keeps asking for my credentials and the error after i insert them is the following :
After some research i've found that i need an gateway setup whitin my company. My datasource is an PostgreSQL cluster hosted by AWS with 200 databases for each project, so there's need of a gateway for each database and that's not possible. Is there a way to troubleshoot this schedule refresh without the need of a Gateway or to refresh the datasets for each reports by an automatic system?
Hey,
please follow the below steps:
1) create a server within the same vnet where all your databases are hosted
meaning you should be able to access all databases from that server
2) then install the powerbi gateway on that newly created server
1 server can take care refresh for all databases via powerbi service
I'm sorry, i don't understand the first point. Can you give more details, please?
Hey,
There is no need for an individual gateway per database.
You can use a same server which has gateway installed to access all databases (as long as the server network configurations allow it)
In case if your database is within any Vnet, for Powerbi to access the database we need a gateway
