Refresh Power BI Service from AWS S3

Hello,

I followed the below post to create a API gateway to access S3 file using lambda function :

I imported data using datasource as "web" in my power bi desktop pointing to my API gateway which in turn pulls data from my S3 bucket.

When I publish the power bi report as a service, how do i ensure data refresh ?

I tried to go to the power bi service -> settings -> datasource and give the credentials for my amazon account but the cloud power bi service does not seem to hit my API gateway when I hit the refresh button.

Please help.

Hi there

In order for it to work, what you have done is made a Web Connection and that will require the On-Premise Data Gateway to be installed and configured.

Once the On-Premise Gateway is installed you can then create a data source to the same location, where you can also specify the connection credentials.
After that is done, you can then upload your PBIX, go into the settings and connect it to the On-Premise Gateway.
And then finally you can enable the refresh schedule, which will refresh your data.
