Onedrive refresh disabled
Need help. I am not an IT person just someone trying to take data and look at it in power bi. I work for a small company and am not a Pro user. I am just taking data and putting it on Onedrive. and refreshing it to power BI. The data is refreshed automatically for a week or two and then I get an email saying "Onedrive refresh disabled". I then have to rebuild the dataset. There is nothing that changes expect it stops pulling the data. I have checked the data and it is up to date but just does not refresh. Here is the email I get

I am not an IT perrson but just a person trying to take data and look at it in powerr BI. I am not a pro user (free version). I am putting the data directly into Onedrive so I go not have a complicated gateway. Anyhow the data looks great for about 2 weeks and then I get an email saying that "Onedrive refresh disabled". At this point the data is being updated on onedrive but no long updates in powerr bi. I can not even do a manual update in power bi and when I look at the datset in BI the onedrive refresh is turned off. So I turn it back on, but it does not update. Please help as the only thing I know to do is delete the dataset, dashboard and start again. Here is the email message I get.

- GilbertQSuper UserHi there
Can you confirm that the passwords or anything does not change?
Also do you get any emails saying that the Scheduled Refresh fails?
If you do, you can go into the Dataset settings, and click on the button to Enable it again.- trentmiddsNew Member
I can confirm that nothing changed
I only get the email saying that the refresh is disabled. I then go back into the dataset online and click "enable" but on the next hourly refresh it moves back to disabled.
Should I be using the desktop power BI or is this a problem with the free power BI.
Thanks for your suggestion
- GilbertQSuper UserAre you only using the Power BI Service to connect to OneDrive?
Or are you first doing it via Power BI Desktop and then publishing it to the Power BI service?
