Power BI Report (via Visualize this view) Not Updating with New Filter from Dynamics CRM View

Hi,

I created a Power BI report via "Visualize this view" functionality in Dynamics CRM. In my initial view, I added three filters to limit the number of data. Then, I added one more filter in dynamics to the view used for my report. The view is updated in Dynamics CRM, but the report I created via "Visualize this view" does not take this new filter into account.

Is there a way to update my PBI report so that it reflects the newly added filter in my view?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,

Please check following options,

Option 1: Recreate the Report

  • Since "Visualize this View" does not allow dynamic updates, you may need to delete the report and re-create it by clicking "Visualize this View" again after applying the new filter.

Option 2: Use Power BI Desktop with Dataverse Connector

  1. Open Power BI Desktop.
  2. Go to "Get Data" → Select "Dataverse" Connector.
  3. Connect to your Dynamics 365 environment.
  4. Select the same table and apply the necessary filters in Power BI.
  5. Publish the report to Power BI Service.
  6. Set up scheduled refresh to keep the report updated with changes.

Option 3: Check for Cache Issues

  • If the filter was recently changed, try refreshing the report in Power BI Service or clearing the browser cache.

Option 4: Use Advanced Filtering in Power BI

  • Instead of relying on Dynamics CRM filters, apply filters directly in Power BI (e.g., using Report, Page, or Visual Filters).

but this option you have to recreate everything - select the right column, relationship, rename the columns... so much work when you have the view built in dynamics!
