Hi all,
I'm encountering a strange case : we have an app where, on one slicer for one page on one of the reports, a single user gets an error of this type : the usual "error picture" preventing from seeing the slicer, along with "See details" and "Correct this".
Upon clicking on "Correct this", the user can see the slicer.
Upon clicking on "See details", the user gets a message telling that it is impossible to show the visual, because of a problem of modifications (deleted columns, etc.).
The problem is that there is only one user getting this message :
-The slicer works in Desktop (we have checked the columns are there), and works with all other users in Service.
-The user doesn't use a bookmark, and has deleted all bookmarks, and emptied the cache to be sure.
-The user has tried different browsers, with each time the url that is given when the app is refreshed.
And yet, the error show up every time.
Is there something we are missing that we could test to solve this case ?
Best regards.

Hi. If only one user has a problem and the rest work fine, then the error is probably something at their environement and not for the report. If you don't have rls or a prevention for custom visuals. Then I would say it's browser cache. Show them there is a button on top of the report to refresh the visuals or guide them to try a private browsing for this time to check if that way the report shows the visual that everyone else can see.
I hope that helps,

Hi, thanks for the reply !
I double-checked with the user, and we have indeed tested different browsers, private browsing, and deleting browser cache, but the error is still there.
Is there something else we could try ?
Can you show the exact message? Also, is this a regular slicer or a custom visual? do you have any special security configured at the model like OLS? is this import or direct query to db? are you using a dynamic m parameter for this?
Those could make an issue for a single user if they don't have the proper permission.

Here is the error message.
It is a regular slicer.
There is RLS (standard) on this report, but the user doesn't have anything different from the other users.
It is an import.
We don't use a dynamic parameter for this.
I hope all this elements help.
Anything else to check ?
Ok. Try reset filters. The button to make the report go back to the filter state of when it was published just in case the user had a specific stored filter from a column that was errased.
Also, what happen if you click at "Corriger ceci"? does it correct or what is it doing?

Hi, when we ckick on "Corriger ceci", it does correct it, and the user can see the slicer.
We didn't add a reset filters button on the report, but we're going to check.
There is a reset filter button on the UI outside the report canvas. Once the user click on Corriger and it gets fixed. If the user refresh the browser, is the error back again everytime?
Happy to help!
Hi,
After new tests, here are the answers :
-After the user clicks on "Correct this" and it does correct the issue, the error is back when the browser is refreshed.
-Curiously, the user only sees the error on the app : when the user opens directly the report, there is no error.
-The reset filter button is deactivated on this app.
However, when the error appears, the user can click on it to reset filters, and it does solve the error. After that, the user can see the message about the reset button being deactivated.
If the browser is refreshed, everything is back : the error, and the possibility to use the reset filters button.
Hi @Eric93
Thanks for sharing these details. It seems the issue reappears after a browser refresh, which suggests that the fix applied through “Correct this” or the reset filters option is only temporary.
Could you please confirm a few things to help us investigate further?
Does this behavior occur for all users or only specific ones?
Are there any bookmarks or personal views applied in the app when the error reappears?
Can you share a screenshot or the exact error message that shows up after the refresh?
Hi, thank you for the reply.
1. This behavior occurs for only one user.
2. There are bookmarks applied in the app, but not by the user for whom there is this behavior : all the user's bookmarks were deleted to be sure the issue wasn't caused by them.
3. After the resfreh, the error message is the same than before :

Hi @Eric93
Just checking in to see if the previous response helped resolve your issue. If not, feel free to share your questions and we’ll be glad to assist.
Hi,
Thanks for checking, I just updated with the new results from the tests.
Hi, for now the error is still here, thank you for checking.
Hi. If the error is only in the report opened by the app and the user see everything ok in the report opened by the workspace directly. Then upgrade the app. There might be something missing from the current version of the app that is not available there yet. You need to manually upgrade the app.
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, I already know it won't solve the issue, since we have already upgraded the app a few times to see if it would solve the problem.
