We are trying to use dataflows to load monthly excel files (from Sharepoint folder) into Power BI datamart.
We have the below setup and have tried the below approach..
Scenario -
1.) We have a historic data load populated using a Dataflow and pulled as a table in datamart (SalesHistoric)
----this is working fine as expected
2) Latest month data load file will be available in a shared folder in Sharepoint Online (example Sales-Jan2023)
----for this we need to create a new dataflow which will always read the data file available from the sharepoint folder (this case it is sales data of Jan 2023) We are planning to keep only data for latest month in this folder (so sales data of Jan 2023 will be overwritten with the sales data of Feb 2023 next month).
We need to ensure that the dataflow loads the data for Jan 2023 in the datamart table for this month and continue to append (future months data) to it.
This table will then be appended to the Historic sales data table to come up with All Sales data.
Does anyone have any idea or link or pointers as to how this can be achieved ?
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
